Cloth that has already been worn.

As a kimono, as a yukata. Who wore it, and on what kind of day, is no longer known. What remains is the tension of the thread, the way a colour has faded, the feel of it in the hand. Cotton, silk, linen, wool — where a weave or a region can be traced, we write down as far as it goes. Where it cannot, the cloth is sewn as it is: its history unknown, its beauty not.

01

綿

Cotton

02

Wool

03

絹

Silk

04

麻

Linen & Hemp

Kimono & Yukata
