一度、誰かの暮らしを生きた日本の布から。小さな衣に仕立て直した一枚。

深い緑の地に、麻の葉の文様。着物として着られていた布をほどき、赤ちゃんのためのあかふんに仕立て直しました。紐と縁には、藍色の布を合わせています。

About AKAFUN

あかふんは、布おむつのためのカバーです。着物や浴衣として使われていた布をほどき、赤ちゃんの体に合わせて仕立て直しています。ゴムは使わず、紐を結んで留めるかたち。締めつけず、成長に合わせて長く使えるようにつくられています。表裏のどちらも表として仕立てたリバーシブルで、その日の気分で、好きな面を外にしてお使いいただけます。

Akafun is a cover for cloth diapers. Fabric that was once worn as a kimono or yukata is unstitched and remade to fit a baby — with no elastic, fastened by tying cords, so it holds without squeezing and keeps fitting as the child grows. Both faces are finished to be worn outward, so it can be turned to whichever side suits the day.

How to use

• 本製品は布おむつカバーです
• 赤ちゃんの肌に触れる内側に、市販の布おむつ（成形おむつ・輪おむつ）を敷いてお使いください
• おむつ本体は含まれません。お手持ちのもの、または市販のものをご用意ください
• リバーシブルです。表裏どちらの面も、外にしてお使いいただけます

• This is a cover, worn over a cloth diaper
• Lay a shop-bought cloth diaper — shaped or flat — inside, against the baby's skin
• The diaper itself is not part of the piece; please have your own
• Reversible — either face can be worn outside

Size & fit

• フリーサイズ。対象の目安は体重 7〜12kg 前後
• ゴム不使用。紐を結んで留めます
• 紐の結び加減で細かく調整でき、赤ちゃんの成長に合わせて長くお使いいただけます
• 一点ごとに、寸法にわずかな個体差があります

• One size, for a baby of roughly 7–12 kg
• No elastic — fastened by tying the cords
• How the cords are tied adjusts the fit, so it keeps fitting as the child grows
• Each piece varies slightly in its measurements

Care

• デリケートな古い布のため、他のお洗濯とは分けて、やさしく手洗いしてください
• 色落ちや縮みが生じる場合があります
• お洗濯のあとは形を整えて陰干し
• アイロンは、あて布をして低温で
• 漂白剤と乾燥機は避けてください

• A delicate old textile: wash it gently by hand, apart from everything else
• Some colour may run, and the cloth may shrink a little
• Reshape it and dry it in the shade
• Iron on low, through a cloth
• No bleach; do not tumble dry
